The Ronald E. McNair High School Counseling Department aims to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that supports students' academic, career, and social/emotional development.
The high school experience is the most critical one as it is the final step before graduation. The school counselor serves as a critical person to help students navigate through their high school years. Individual academic advisement for freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students occurs annually. School counselors work with students to ensure that they have the academic, career, and social/emotional resources needed to make it to their end goal, graduation!

How Do I See My Counselor?
All students and parents must schedule an appointment with their assigned counselor by completing the counselor's scheduling link or scanning the QR code. Students are not allowed
out of class the first and last 20 minutes of class. Students can visit the counseling office during their lunch wave.

The preferred way to contact your counselor is by email or by completing the counselor's scheduling link or scanning the QR code.
How Do I Contact My Child's Counselor if I am a Parent?
Parents should email, call or complete the counselor's scheduling link to schedule an appointment to speak with your child's counselor.
What is the protocol if I am having an issue with my teacher and/or my grades?
Step 1: The parent and student should contact the teacher to schedule a conference to address the concerns.
Step 2: If problem was not resolved in Step 1, contact the department chairperson.
Step 3: If the problem was not resolved in Step 3, contact the Assistant Principal of Instruction.
